Here we have a reconditioned Weinbach 155 5’2″ Baby Grand Piano
Make: Weinbach
Model: 155
Finish: (SE) Satin Ebony
Status: Used/Reconditioned
The history of the Weinbach name dates back to 1887, when Gerhard Wein established his original organ-making workshop in the Weinbach region of Germany. Soon after, he brought on two apprentices, trained in Vienna, who shifted their focus to piano making. By 1893, the company was exclusively producing pianos.
The factory flourished, earning a strong reputation across Europe and beginning to make its mark in the American market. The founder’s sons and later generations continued his successful work, ensuring that the Weinbach name, along with the signature sound of their pianos, remains well-regarded to this day. Weinbach pianos are particularly favored by music schools, and experienced pianists also appreciate their exceptional quality.
In 1956, PETROF acquired the Weinbach brand and now offers mid-range pianos under this name. Weinbach uprights and grands are designed by PETROF’s development team and are semi-finished in a leading Chinese piano factory, following the technical guidelines from PETROF’s Technology Centre. These instruments are then completed with meticulous care in the PETROF factory in the Czech Republic.
The construction of Weinbach pianos follows the same principles as PETROF instruments, ensuring exceptional stability and a rich, resonant tone. With their precise action and durability, they are well-suited for both experienced pianists and intensive use, such as in schools. (Weinbach 155)
